If you also offload rendering and stuff like occlusion culling to the server it might actually work. Wouldn’t be a great experience though. Especially not for a competitive game. > They should fix the game so that tampering with it doesn

I think you’re really quite confused about how video games or anti-cheat software works. They don’t prevent you from editing your computer memory or even from cheating as such. Rather they merely inform the multiplayer server i.e. other pla

They “could” also create a new interface that's somehow more efficient for Windows. Oh wait.. I don’t think MS has the attention span for stuff like that. Especially considering the limited short to medium term payoff. They could buy U

It didn’t for decades (in this specific regard) why does you think it could change? People running Linux hate software shipped as binaries due to various technical and ideological reasons. Why would this change?

Sure, MS could purposefully try and make their first party games not run on Linux. However.. why? It would be the same as purposefully losing money but not selling on Steam. Besides that what could they do? Within getting into all types of

If Linux gaming picks up and it gains significant market share then that is not an issue. Game developers will not use APIs that don’t work on the machines of ~20% of their users (or won’t make it mandatory, anyway) Considering the alternat
