Not for 13ish years but we built the chat feature in a social networking platform with BOSH. Looked just like FB Messenger, really. The thing never took off, so I don't remember any talks about outside federation, I think it was not on

The reverse can also be true, I've done 2x10km commutes for much of my adult working life and even if you wanted to push it to the point of sweating and having to take a shower, traffic usually foils the plan so you're confined to

The difference between "has a routable IP" and "this should be routed" is exactly the problem for 99% of the population. I'm not saying NAT is a good thing but at least it's one more thing from preventing netw

I think there is a big difference between faking 10k users and then going to investors at 1m users years later (it's a morally dubious kickstart) or in this case for the sake of the sale/investment going to 1400%.

I tried colima once and couldn't get it to do what I wanted. Maybe just a missing shim, maybe our setup with docker-compose for integration tests. (I'm usually on linux, so maybe my lack of mac experience also played a role) Zero

Not sure I agree here. Yes, maybe it's 10x the price (which I doubt in the first place) it's actually performing very well, measurably. I don't know how you benchmark a Rolex vs a Seiko for 500 bucks. That is luxury to me. An

It's a fun exercise but I don't see it as useful for most things I run. xxx/znc 25.4MB xxx/oidentd 10.6MB this is based on alpine and at most I could save 30MB total. Not worth the effort for me.

Is it voyeuristic to read and observe what people are broadcasting, either publicly or to a closed circle? I dunno, if I don't want anyone to see the post I will not post it or limit its visibility, I am very much in the same camp as t

I get your point but I disagree with your timeline. 2012 was already past 5.3 which was a long-lived version with most of the quirks of early 5 fixed. There was a lot of what people call modern PHP, basically just without the types. I'

Even cities with decent public transport have neighborhoods that aren't great for this. I live in Munich and yet going by car is often the fastest, and only during rush hour it's worse. I generally use my bike though, which is so-
