But in terms of real dollars would total compensation go up? How would this even work? Isn’t this just moving around the chairs on the deck of the Titanic?

This is a really naive take. I tried literally what you’re advocating. And what happened was some busybody lady in my neighborhood kept calling CPS when my daughter would walk to play at a friend’s houses down the block. When I was her age

Nobody is conspiring to “keep this under wraps” so it can’t be a conspiracy theory. A conspiracy requires people who have some hidden knowledge and are keeping it secret?

Because when you try to throw junior developers at it who had OO concepts in Python, Java, or C# drilled into them in college, switching to Elixir/Erlang feels like learning Martian. I had the fun experience of it being the second lang

It’s definitely treading new ground here. Every time I see something about Neuralink and the immense amount of advancements in AI, I’m bullish that one day my daughter, who is five now and in a wheelchair, will be able to walk one day becau

What? I used the word “slop” when I was a kid to describe feed for pigs on the farm in the early 90s. You’re definitely wrong on this one.

We use PLEX for long trips in the car for the kids. Like 24 hour drives. We drive to Florida in the winter and the iPads easily run out of space after we’ve downloaded a season or two of Adventure Time and Daniel Tiger. I could fit more if

As other people have said, I think auto makers are learning the error of their ways. I just bought a 2024 Toyota Sequoia last week, and love that basically every control has a button! There’s some infotainment stuff but that works with voic

Okay but really now, how am I supposed to pay for $250,000 a year to my software engineers in San Francisco with that kind of attitude? Someone has to pay to lease those beautiful downtown SF offices!

As we all know, the true minimum wage is $0, as if a job isn’t viable and can’t make a profit it simply no longer exists. Maybe we’ll settle on deciding food delivery shouldn’t exist. I was between jobs and DoorDash was a joy to work, I’d j

Anecdotal but I’ve had the same -1.5 prescription since I was diagnosed with nearsightedness at 12. I’m 37 now, so 25 years of the same rx, I’d say that’s pretty consistent.
