I also switched to ANSI (with a custom software layout) after using ISO for most of my life. I prefer the wider/horizontal Enter key on ANSI. I'd sometimes accidentally hit the key above it (\), but over time it got better and now

Well, one technical reason is that WhatsApp groups — unlike Telegram groups — use encryption. So Facebook doesn't know what goes on inside them.

Wire, maybe. I haven't used it much, but it's supposed to be end-to-end encrypted and supports audio/video/text. No phone requirement either. Still a centralized service, though, so they get access to metadata.
