Totally agree on the first pattern. For the second, I don't see how skipping the ORM avoids that duplication. Presumably you still need to map your database fields to object attributes.

I’m glad to hear we’ll see more of your writing. I dove deep into front end frameworks after a lot of research last year. Your clear and thoughtful comments about React helped me a lot. Congrats on making a positive career change.

Lately, `pip install pandas` is my first step after making a new virtual environment. Its read_sql and read_csv methods are magic. The resulting DataFrames are just like DataTables in C#. And for complex joins and aggregations, I can DataFr

Try before you buy, if you can. The A7III's auto focus is slower on adapted lenses than on the EF lenses. It's still impressive, but the Alpha + EF combination is compelling.

It's the Sony A7III body with the new 24mm 1.4 GM lens. I upgraded its firmware to get the auto-focus features that debuted on the A9. The lens is wide like a smartphone so the subject always fits in the frame. And it has enough resolu

My wife and I rented a full-frame mirrorless from the local camera store some months ago because she wanted nice pictures of our first puppy. As it turns out, this experience went much like a take-home test drive for a luxury car. After a f
