I'm working on a project where the backend devs decided to use Cassandra to manage a few hundred entities. Due to different access modes they had to denormalize the data into multiple tables and we're constantly running into consi

The FIDO2 spec is written by someone who has no idea how web apis work. Lots of it is based on CBOR instead of JSON which makes it a PITA to handle in JS code (yes, there is a cbor npm library but why… WHY?!?).

I used this as a base image for a static site, but then needed to return a custom status code, and decided to build a simple static file server with go. It's less than 30 lines, and image size is <5MB. Not as small as thttpd but mor

Well, it's only efficient if the component which renders each element in the list gets a stable key AND is React.memo() AND the props passed to the components do not make the React.memo() pointless. For example the following will not b

Well this is not what I'm seeing. I need to add -ldflags "-linkmode external -extldflags -static" to the go build command otherwise the binary doesn't run inside a scratch image.

I recently tried to use nix to build images (docker images though, not sure if k8s can run OCI, or if I can push OCI to a docker registry (artifactory)). What I found cumbersome though is to «cross-compile» images, I'm on mac/arm

Not celebrating is a cultural issue. Even if you ship a thousand new things a week, you can still take time to celebrate those. It's your (or your team's) choice not to. One good example is Linear. The product improves day by day,

Fair enough. But one big feature of Kubernetes is that you can scale it to multiple (thousands or more) physical machines (that are physically or even geographically separated). Can you do the same with System 360?

There are at least two startups which are re-implementing something like zanzibar. In my experience, RBAC is too simplistic for even not so advanced apps. For example, with RBAC alone you can't express «User X can edit object Y», if ob
