Is this similar to cold welding that may happen in space (where surfaces don't oxidate)?

The issue really exists only at I/O boundaries, where if there is a format mismatch you have to convert, which incurs some costs (CPU mostly, and memory bandwidth). Most languages can inline the data such that there isn't much ove

Even with containerized workloads, you still have an ingress, or SPOF (or multiple, when using multicast), and the seamless restart is meant for exactly those processes. Nginx is often used ( https://kubernetes.github.io/ingr

Chrome imposes a limit of 2h on Access-Control-Max-Age (other browsers may differ). Anyway, today we have the tools to expose different backends through the same domain. Reverse proxies, k8s ingress, … a separate domain may not add much val

My point is that you can't override what equality implementation groupByToMap will use, which makes it much less useful. See for example https://gcanti.github.io/fp-ts/modules/NonEmptyArray.ts.html... , where

A «group by» function requires keys to be comparable (for equality). You can see this when you look at the type signatures of «group by» functions in any strongly typed language or library. They either require a comparator to be provided, o

I actually prefer the opposite, just one state per component. And I use immer for that (use-immer, specifically). Most of my components have one set of props (passed down from the parent), one set of state, execute one GraphQL request.

In Haskell you typically work around this by using newtype to wrap your type so that you can give the new type specific implementations of type classes.

Unfurling is the process of fetching additional information (title, description, image) and showing that on the platform itself. Twitter does it, Facebook, Slack too. On Slack you can implement custom unfurling that does more than just show

Some modern features such as class syntax, arrow functions were championed by coffeescript, and later adapted by TC39. It wouldn't be too far fetched to think that when TC39 will start considering adopting types, they will look similar

2. esbuild has support for TS (it strips the type annotations out during build), and is plenty fast (compared to webpack, rollup etc). So bundling itself should never be an issue. The other aspect is type checking. If you want TS to type ch

When I said hard, I didn't mean technically. I meant it's hard for Next.js to decide how to solve the problem so it works for everyone. I'm doubtful if it even makes sense for them to try to support every possible use case. T
