You didn't do anything wrong. In fact, you should have asked the recruiter to speak to a supervisor with deep knowledge in Unix, where he could confirm your knowledge and get back to you and you would've gotten the job.

Insightful article, but a bit hard to distill the distinct points. From my own experience at an Uber for X, there is one overarching theme that dictates the whole dynamic that I think isn't addressed. The article makes the following po

The thing is, NK has one of the largest military in the world and can fire 200,000 or so rounds of mortars, tanks, rockets whatever to Seoul within 5 mins. A missile system can maybe defend 10,000 during that time? Just a back of the envelo

No. As an a example, I'm assuming that hot roofs absorb 70% of the incoming energy and reflect 30%, where reflectig roofs absorb 10% and reflect 90%. These numbers can be a bit different, but I'm pretty sure that hot roofs absorb

This seems really viable. Deflecting is still better than absorbing on the roof top, since roof top means 100% warmth absorption and deflection always less than 100%, probably only a fraction of that.

Many U.S. coast cities will become submerged when sea-levels rise by several feet. This is not the omly effect, particularly countries in the middle east will dry out, leading rural inhabitants to gravitate towards in excess of their capaci

Why are you saying that the universe might not exist if it were not for humans. I have a few questions for you. 1. What if humans become extinct in a few hundred years? Should the universe then not exist anymore and make more lifeforms? 2.

Survival of humanity isn't important universally. The universe doesn't care. But it's the most important thing for humans.

I don't think these points are of any relevance. Once you have stage IV autonomy, you can partner with any car manufacturer you want, you have all the leverage. However, knowledge in cars definitely helps building the technology, since

Yes, building a robot without being technical is an incredibly high risk, especially if you don't have anything built yet. If you want to build robots, you need to have a working prototype to show that you or your team has the technica
