Very interesting link. After reading that I think I may be generalizing from my own example. So I'll keep an open mind - thanks.

I think, for a majority of people, it would be an easier way to study probability. Visualization makes things much more understandable than algebraic formula derivation.

This is a very well written article. However, I must admit I don't really understand the wide interest the (western) world seems to have in the men vs women viewpoints. Perhaps (and I'm just guessing here), it is because the culture in the

And (from purely anecdotal experience) it isn't true today either. I did not have a safe career with a stable income when I met and married my wife. One of my best friends dropped out of college and married his sweetheart (they started off

Hmmm...I just realized I am a pretty old-fashioned programmer. But I guess that comes with working in C++ (as a better C). - One of my recent tasks was to implement a B-Tree and a Binary Tree. Also, I implemented merge-sort for another proj

Opera is a classy browser. It's fast, efficient, and has a lovely interface. I love it and I really wish it was more popular. Happy Birthday Opera! Here's hoping you get more love this year - you deserve it! http://www.opera.com/portal/15/

zlib with the --rsyncable option sounds very interesting. Do you have any pointers to more info? I'd really like to use it but I can't find any references on http://www.zlib.net/

If you like CTags give CScope a try. It's sort of like CTags on steriods. Also Vim can work with a combination of both (it loads both cTAGS and cscope.in) so you don't loose any functionality. The biggest plus you get when using CScope is t

Same here - I enjoy programming. I'm passionate about it. I can relate very strongly to the OP. I program because I want to - because the very act gives me joy. I'm not crazy about debugging but it's a part of my craft and I even enjoy it s

I'm not sure what you mean actually. Divorce can be just as easily initiated by the woman as the man. The social stigma and familial pressure is there, of course, but it exists against divorced men as well (although the degree may be less).
