I've been seeing this too. So after reading your comment and the one above, I did a search to see what operators are still supported by Google and stumbled across this page: https://ahrefs.com/blog/google-advanced-

I haven't seen the ThinkPad L440 mentioned here. I bought one a few years ago because it has the same benefits as a T440p but the value hasn't been inflated. It's part of that last generation where the CPU is user replaceable

I edited an old service book to gain MMS functionality on my Bold 9900. My carrier (Koodo Prepaid, Canada) doesn't have BIS and never did. If I lose any other functions, I'll probably have a look at the other service books to find

Some Grandstream ATAs support pulse dialing. That's probably the easiest solution for most people.

In British Columbia, 112 was once the prefix for making long-distance calls. That changed in 1985 to bring us into conformity with the rest of North America. Edit: also, you could call for free on rotary pay phones by tapping out the number

There are ATAs (Analog Telephone Adapters) that permit pulse dialing. I have one and my old black rotary desk phone is happily VOIPing away.

The best: an old CD player called Workbone on Slackware. It made great use of the number keys for pause/play/ff/rw/eject. The worst: I used to work with an awful custom-built industrial computer. You had to enter the 10-

Someone here once posted a link to duckduckstart.com. I have it set up in my search bar now. If you search, it goes through Startpage (Google results, more privately). If you search with a bang, it goes through Duckduckgo. It's probabl

The same legislation would ban non-compete clauses. Good stuff. I didn't see this coming. At this point, I'm waiting for Chairman Doug to redistribute farmland and announce a five-year plan...

Agreed. The provision that calls for businesses to create a policy on the "right to disconnect" at the end of the workday is great too. You have to give credit where credit is due...

The formats have different qualities. I buy records because I like physical objects and reading the liner notes. I've been listening to music, sitting in the midst of a pile of records, since the 70s. But I buy CDs too -- mostly used -

My father became the maintenance man for an inner-city homeless mission after he retired. It was a great choice that gave him a purpose and got him out of the house. When he finally decided that it was time to quit (at 78), the manager told

This is my solution too. My server with private data is only accessible via my LAN. I'm home often enough that syncing isn't a problem. I kind of treat it like the old Palm desktop, where you had to sync regularly by USB. The nice

Nuclear is such a horrible replacement. Let's let future generations deal with the waste from the power that sustained our lifestyle. I hate it. I'd rather live with less.
