It has interesting implications for philosophy too. Intelligent people often have strong, but uncritical opinions, despite a lack of training to defend their ideas rigorously. I don't mean in this in any gatekeeping sense, but this is

Yes, they've been around forever, but browsers have never properly supported column breaks and orphan control. This tends to make any content with CSS columns unsightly, which is why no one uses them.

How is a class with a single rule, that does exactly what it's supposed to, not "semantic?" What do you think "semantic" means, in this context? Maybe you mean classes organized with a high level of abstraction that

Since you use the term "antipattern," what is the respectable pattern (methodology) that Tailwind stands opposed to?

Normally I don't care about this stuff, but at work, one member of my team of 9 refuses to use an iPhone, ruining any potential group chats. The obvious solution is that this person gets an iPhone. That said, it would be nice if the SM

In hindsight, it is amazing how much happens in the first episode of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. I recently rewatched both, and it felt like watching half a season.

I was confused why the antagonist was the same as LotR, why there were hobbits (they were an obscure race in The Hobbit), and whether this story was supposed to be continuous with the existing Lord of the Rings. These are just a few example

Yes. I think they doubled down too much on certain aspects of the Peter Jackson aesthetic, which was already a departure from The Hobbit / Lord of the Rings.

Say what you want about mediocre fantasy shows, but I thought The Wheel of Time, another Amazon show, was much more interesting than The Rings of Power after a mere two episodes.

I have a hard time believing the authenticity of the critics' reviews. The Rings of Power is a complete snoozefest. Stuff is happening, but it's a confusing mess and there are no stakes to make anything interesting. The dialogue i

I'm not sure it makes sense to judge homo sapiens as corrupt, given that they lived much differently the past 10,000 years than their first 300,000 years. I can easily imagine social groups were more egalitarian and less corrupt for mo

AdGuard actually works as a regular Safari extension. The background application is only if you want to selectively block ads per site, or to run updates automatically. You can still open it to update filters and close whenever you want.

Functional classes with pre-established breakpoints solve a lot of the problem that container queries are tackling. It's a nice feature set, but it wasn't impossible to do before, unless I am misunderstanding something.

This is pure anecdote and not apples and oranges, but I've found the ad-blocking experience with Safari/Adguard comparable to Firefox/uBO.

Preprocessors and CSS methodologies essentially solved that problem already. Container queries are nice, but :has() gives developers novel functionality to CSS that wasn't possible before without JavaScript and DOM traversal.
