Most of the backers for the espresso machine project ( http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zpmespresso/pid-controll... ) haven't received their rewards either, but we aren't up in arms ready to file a lawsuit either. I honestly don't see p

Maybe he's not ready to fulfill the rewards yet. I don't see that as a reason to file a lawsuit. I backed the kickstarter PID espresso machine project almost a year ago and have yet to see my reward. They reached their funding goal befor

who knows, maybe they all use the identical motor, but there's a few solder bridges that prevent you from going as fast as the expensive models... cars that can be overclocked would be interesting.

Agreed. There are quite a few motorcycles that can get around 95 mpg. It would still cost around $18 for a full tank of gas in a motorcycle, but probably only $3 for a full tank in the tesla. If they based mpg on dollars spent per distan

Wouldn't that be a bit too variable to estimate? If you charge your car during the day, it would cost a lot more than charging at night. I think in the bay area, it's around 5 cents per kWh in commercial zones during off-peak hours, so a

To the general public, no, but in this case the product is similar to 4chan, so users may be confused. If Moot.It had sold server hardware instead, I'm sure there would be no valid case.

Where does it timeout on? You can probably find out the router that is the issue. If it times out before it gets beyond your ISP, chances are it's your connection. My traceroute looks good here, so it's probably not their webserver.

I can read it just fine over here. I don't understand why you think it's a trap? maybe it's just your internet connection. perform a traceroute against the host to see who's at fault.

I think the title is misleading for the purposes of catching people's attention. The data is not available to download, and is in aggregate form. The AOL data was not in aggregate form, so it was possible to get personalized details. They

There's also the usual engineer estimation: "Oh, it will probably take a day to rewrite the code. We'll deploy it and it will probably work just fine in production." Any engineer that has live code has made this mistake before.

Sounds like you should stay at home and grow your food on your own farm. Lots of cooking tools use hi-tech research, from non-stick pans to heat resistant spatulas. I understand your concern, but there's no need to freak out over technolo

I think it's fairly obvious why someone would do this? Suppose you want to create an event that happens to have a similar audience as those who might attend a Hacker News meetup. Now you can create a marketing message to those people with
