by that logic, minimum wage and child labor laws should be illegal. If a child wants to work...who are you to stop them?

simple, unlike those other ones, unpaid internships eliminate entry level jobs in the industry. Why should a company pay you $7-10 bucks an hour, if they can get someone to do it for free?

with lawyers it's usually not a case of whether something is legal or not...it's a case of whether or not there is a risk of something being enforced. I'm sure the admins attitude of "If you think it is illegal, don't apply." isn't going to

I think the biggest problem with facebook is that Zuckerberg is jealous of the Google guys and wants it to become a Google size company. This started with the crapton of funding they've taken on. Which led to them hiring hundreds of Google

Are you sure? 90% of VC backed startups fail. What do you think that number is for angel backed startups?
12. 942.▲
    by vaksel 16y ago

no they can't. unlike real gambling where there are real odds of success, startups are a crap shoot each and every time. There is no science, no formula for success. Even the best investors, the ones who get the BEST deals like Ron Conway,

because not everyone invests in Google...for every Google there are thousands of companies that crash and burn. Just look at YC, a savvy investor by any metric, with hundreds of startups under their belt...and they had what 20 exits? It's e

how do you define success? I'd say even "breaking even + $30K/yr" does not apply to 90% of websites/web businesses.

nah, just wanted to give real stats instead of "make what people want - 15,000,000" actually kinda funny "what people want" gets 1,300 searches a month

    by vaksel 16y ago

for me #1 thing is to use google to see how many searches are there a month for relevant keywords. If you know that 18,100 people a month search for "website monitoring" you know that there is some market for it. Then of course you gotta ch

i think the big issue, is that there is rich and "rich" real rich can afford to spend $100K on a car w/o really impacting their income too much. i.e. 100K = 5% of their yearly income($2mm/yr) the "fake" rich, still make $300-400K a yr, but
