You still haven’t answered how government IDs would be checked as part of mail in voting. If they can’t be then you’re forcing people to risk their health in order to vote in person. > This has been a debate for at least a decade if not

So, we don’t know for sure if there is a problem at all. But we absolutely should stop people from voting safely in a pandemic in case there is a problem? What about every other method of voting? Do we know voting machines used across the c

How would mail in voting even work with voter ID? Voter fraud has never been seen in any meaningful level in the US. Worries about it are a fiction concocted by those who would really rather as few people vote as possible.

The common thread in a lot of this is disregard for end user experience. But I think the biggest reason that these discussions never go anywhere is that people are using the same tools for wildly different purposes. At a guess, I'd say

That depresses me because it's clear who is being ignored here: the user. A 3MB bundle size instead of 1MB does make a difference, and if you're working on the kind of site that relies on conversions/purchases to succeed then

The example given was hyperbolic but I do think it’s true that a database can be “weaponised” once it’s got the power of state violence behind it.

A more correct way of summarising the link you provided is that some historians contend the 1619 Project is at its core flawed, and it has been criticised by many prominent conservatives. It’s a subject of much debate both in and out of a
