Ah, nice. I still can't get any lower than the bottom row, though.

It keeps freezing up for me. I can see everyone playing just fine, but as soon as I hit a few notes everything stops and I get "Offline Mode". Tried Firefox 11 and Chromium 17.0.963.83 (Arch Linux) and Chrome 17.0.963.56 (OS X).

There's a difference between having a private conversation pass through your server and scanning it for naughty words.

Maybe switching IM networks is an altogether better solution.

So, what's the most convenient way to IM with end-to-end encryption? I don't like the idea of it being possible for an intermediate to scan through my private messages.

Mono is open source. If it were the official (reference) implementation, of course I'd consider .NET more of an open platform.

The parent comment specifically mentioned more people using .NET. I don't have a problem with C# as a language.

Yeah, isn't it great that more people are backing a proprietary, closed source, Windows-centric technology? (As a pre-emptive strike, Mono does not make .NET any more "open". If Mono was maintained and supported by the same people that desi

I dunno. When I started lurking on HN a few years ago, I used MSVC on Windows. Now I'm an OSS advocate with the standard issue MacBook Pro, a FreeBSD desktop, my code lives on GitHub, I'm involved in a startup and guess which editor I use?

Unapproachable? You don't need to know every single command and the entirety of Vimscript to use the editor. Do you know every function in every language/API you use?

I wonder if this uses P2P at all or whether everything is routed through their servers? The former would be far more sustainable (although NAT problems ahoy if that's the only channel). It does look like they're planning on offering a pai

I don't think it's intended as a replacement for the native functions, rather an implementation to use where they're missing (which, AFAIK, is rare nowadays).

Even if you hacked up the makefile to move the object files, there's still a hell of a lot of junk generated when compiling a typical large C project. Dropbox needs something like git ignore files: http://help.github.com/ignore-files/

Until you compile your code, end up with 300 MB of object files and have no way to exclude them by file extension.

Check out the Infinality patches: http://www.infinality.net/ I've used these successfully on Debian, Arch and FreeBSD, and always had great results.
