Easy to onboard in person but still work remote.

If you do a search for "python common gotchas" it's almost certain to come up, usually pretty prominently.

You can't work remote as if you were in-office but just have conference calls now. You need to restructure communication and norms a bit, but if you do it can completely address all the thing you brought up.

Yeah this is covered in pretty much every style guide, tutorial, and reference. And is an easy screener in an interview. I'm also surprised anyone using Python as more than a toy experiment had this issue, especially in such a critical

Ok, my attempt at self deprecating humor didn't land. I don't actually correct anyone on this, I only make hacker news comments about it. But it won't stop standing out to me.

Never tried to claim it wasn't pedantic of me! Just one of those things that sticks, because it was taught to me that way.

100% understand that. It's just something that's stuck with me for some reason.

I meant the techniques portion of the book, not techniques for the Mapo Tofu.

I've noticed the "less" vs "fewer" issue a lot more in the last few years. I feel like we're losing that battle. I will continue to (kindly!) remind people of the difference, though. I can't help it.

That book is way more useful for techniques than the recipes in it. I wouldn't dream of trying their mapo tofu!

Sure it does. https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Chef-Culinary-Institute-... Would be useful for any home cook (I have it in my kitchen)

IME you're right, but the cars we hear in a city are the outliers, not a nice modern quiet car. It definitely, in my experience, reduces overall noise to have a lot of electric vehicles.

For me the spaces organization, and how they handle tabs is really nice. Cleaning up open tabs every night (being keeping the archive if you need to re-find) is nice, and moving certain tabs up to the favorites area that are long-lived is n

Posten is a mixed bag. Ease of access at places like grocery stores, and general service is great. But delivery can often be weirdly delayed. Sometimes we get notice of bills _after_ they're due. But overall, I prefer it to the US post

More anecdata, but I had ~20 lights, of various quality (many Hue, some cheaper Home Depot specials) in boob lamps that survived at least 11 summers in a New England house without AC. Still there probably, but I moved out so I can only vouc

Context is everything, and why these fail. When I did one, the process included the narrative version of the results. I had a question that was something like "It's important to support your organization", which I agree with.

I meant even within the world of being a full stack dev, having an "angle" on your experience or resume. Full stack dev with lots of experience in Pandas. Heavy database optimization background, etc etc. Nothing quite as esoteric

Part of OPs problem may be that it's hard to differentiate yourself in that kind of position. Full stack web development is not easy to get right, but the competition pool is huge. It helps to find even the smallest little angle to dif

A bit unfortunate that their blog format has "In other news" in giant letters right under their announcement about laying off 400 people. Maybe a blog isn't the right place to make news like this public.
