With ARM, the lack of control might deteriorate even further. While the underlying architecture might not have much to do with it, the accelerators in these SOCs just give more options for Microsoft to collect data and lock down devices eve

This reminds me of Windows 10 itself. A fresh install of windows 10 has all its builtin apps including the calculator (for currency I am guessing) allowed through the firewall by default. In the security world, the default should be off and

I tried on my iPhone SE (2020) 3 months ago and I could not get iPv6. Could be location specific. Because I specifically tested for iPv6 support.

I believe so. They use a dual stack model and last I checked Airtel doesn’t support IPv6 yet and neither does Vi which leaves Jio to be the only ones contributing to the stats.

I think the most obvious factor here is the mobile networks. I have two fiber ISPs and neither have IPv6 support for consumers.

This reminds me of 'Reflections on Trusting Trust'. The headline is so relevant here > To what extent should one trust a statement that a program is free of Trojan horses? Perhaps it is more important to trust the people who wr

Based on their IPO filing I would say their biggest asset is the number of users. Other than that their model still results in a net loss every year so if you are looking at it from a value investing standpoint I think it’s overvalued at le

This is where iOS wins I think. According to Apple documentation, no app can override a systemwide DNS setting in iOS14. So if you were to apply a dns profile, it is guaranteed that apps cannot use their own dns resolver.

If you show 50% usage then there are going to be plenty of customer service calls where customers complain about poor performance of the PC and then laptops will be compared based on this number by those that are not tech savvy …

Interesting didn’t know this. I always assumed it had to go to someone else. So digital currency can’t go below zero (or where you are paying someone to take it off you).

Not really. If owning a coin becomes illegal it can fall below zero where you are paying someone to take your coins. Something similar to oil happened a while ago when storage had become an issue so prices fell below 0$

It seems that the author found a vulnerability in the iCloud password reset that could have potentially allowed you to not only gain access to an iCloud account but also the passcode of a device. The reason why I think Apple decided not to

The funny thing is the web pages are sent back to you. So technically you can’t reach the end of internet. The end of internet is being sent to you.

Is it possible that Apple is calling their chips Apple Silicon for reasons other than marketing? Since Apple now plans to design and manufacture chips for all their products it’s also possible Apple comes up with an ARM compatible instructi

Remember Apple sells its refurbished products. Yes it costs them (and as sales increase they also get more returns) to refurbish and sell them back but not accepting returns or refunds is a completely anti-consumer and not a customer friend
