That's an easy if weak way to deal with a human reality and the failures of tech design to accommodate it. How does it work for information about me that other people gather? Like medical records? Is that my responsibility as well?

I don't think this hurts Twitter nearly as much as it hurts Instabook, it only clears the path for Twitter to have less competition for direct photo uploads, which it wants. The people who get hurt most are the people using Instagram who li

Downloading now, but I'd change the description of the in-app purchase so people can read it on the app store; it currently truncates. Instead of 'Feature to enable export' just say 'Export diagrams'. Looking forward to trying it out.

They've pulled this headline baiting before. Remember the 'upcoming announcement with big implications for extraterrestrial life' that turned out to be a methane-breathing lifeform that then ended up maybe not breathing methane? It's hard n

That and a number of other clever things. The tech and talent acquisition was likely a good one. As a product, Color was launched so clumsily, and squandered its one good shot at a relaunch.

When you consider that tech titans are making tools that reshape the way entire societies interact and even how people use information and think about things, we've been in comic book territory for years.

If they talk about the competition, they're scared of the competition, and the more they talk, the more scared they are. That goes for Apple, Google, Amazon and all the rest.

To 'thank him'? The guy makes huge bank on speaking and his books, which is deserved. He gets paid for his work, and for that he can pay for the work he receives. 'Let's work for free for a rich guy' is hardly what I call a good idea. This

I was running into the same problem, and ended up sending notifications for non-essentials to the lock screen but not elsewhere. It's made extended reading much more manageable.

Traits evolve under pressure that is local to an environment and the interactions between species that inhabit it. If there were no predators of this fish that used echolocation or another method, then this trait is sufficient to survive an

What law of physics was broken here? The law of headline puffery? Cool discovery, though.

Surveillance that is only triggered by a (dangerous) infraction is a far cry from the kind you read about in dystopian novels, or the newspaper for that matter.

Big +1. Users as a term radically homogenizes people you're supposed to be building for. I came to the same conclusion a couple years ago: http://corvusconsulting.ca/2010/08/no-more-users/

Likely, so long as the definition of an Android tablet stays stretchy and flexible: does it need Google's seal of approval? does it need to be upgradeable to subsequent official Android releases? does it just need to have started with Andro

It looks nice, but it breaks default browser navigation standards. The space bar doesn't paginate, and scrolling to the end of the page doesn't stop scrolling, but forces me back to the top of the page. This is happening in Safari, can't at

A short attention span. Really. You think you build a digital ecosystem around premium hardware and breaking content licensing logjams and forcing open the price of cellular data with a short attention span. That's.... interesting.

This is great news. We got into the beta for Canadian service and what a breath of fresh air. Goodbye, forever, Paypal, I look forward to watching your slow, sad demise.

As I understand it, other apps will be able to register with the maps service and add data to maps, like transit directions. In theory sounds great, it'll take a while to see how it shakes out which is a setback no matter how you slice it.

Not tilting at windmills so much as a 'fool me once' wariness. But you're right, good leaders seek out customer stories in their own words and try to start conversations with those customers so they can hear the good and bad from the source

I really love how only 'approved' activities are allowed. As a joke we tried adding 'toke' but the app doesn't allow you to add that habit. It did allow someone to add 'fuck bitches'. Classy, and just a little fascist.
