I imagine it might be more useful for content creation than others. Then again, maybe not. I was forced to remove several buttons from the touch bar, because when I go to type numbers I will occasionally brush the bar with my fingertips, in

I wish opening a business was easier in the states. You want an office location or want to sell something? You have to rent a commercial place. You can’t operate out your front door. Meanwhile, in Asia, many cafes and bars and other types o

I’ve honestly thought about applying. I’m veteran and do miss that sort of community and overall feeling of contributing to my extended family to keep them safe. I live overseas now though, so not sure how that process would go lol

Yeah during my eight years, hazing was mostly phased out by then. Some traditions still exist, but they’re quite heavily controlled. Either way, some things do happen occasionally, and this is something most people shrug off. That’s the oth

Without reading the article, I can say yes, yes we are. There are very few exceptions to this depending on your career and mindset. I can say that I enjoyed life a lot during my 8 years in the military, and it had nothing to do with the job

I largely agree with you here, and this entire thread has been an interesting read for me. I’m actually writing what is turning out to be a research paper ( it started as a blog post ) about software development today. What the OP is lookin

Agreed. The only place where software that the OP wants to create can reside is in the hobbyist community or free, open source community. In the real world this isn’t cost effective or viable. Just takes too long.

Ok, then the _majority_ seems to be bloated. And I feel like this is the new normal. HN, in my opinion, is an island of simplicity in a sea of complexity.

I gotta agree here. UX seemed so simple just ten- twenty years ago... and still I wonder how the hell people programmed 16 bit video games in a tiny system. And everything on the web front is so bloated. Yes, I can make a pretty UX with tha

I’ve always stayed at Airbnb’s for my short term stays, simply because they were cheaper than hotels. Hotels cost so much for a place that doesn’t even have a hot plate.
