As someone who works in the Advancement (fundraising) space for a university (not in the US), Harvards behaviour is IMHO quite ethical. Whilst institutions will do due diligence on major donors they are not geared to be investigative units.

I would argue that Beijing didn't anticipate the resolve of the protestors, but they would certainly know about and endorse Lam's backdown. China is happy to play the long game - they apply pressure to HK to bring them inline with

In Melbourne, Australia, we have a 'vacant landlord' tax and part of what initiated this law was a survey was done of the water consumption of properties in Melbourne - ie little or no water consumption = no one living there. On t

But Apple, Google, Microsoft aren't the cool start-ups either and they are mega-corps, yet people still want to work there. So I don't believe that line of reasoning holds up.

As someone who transitioned from IT management to alumni relations/fundraising at an NFP, I've experienced a couple of these 'complications'- they crop up in all sorts of ways. A couple of examples: 1. Donor (decades ago

To take a counter view, you could argue that not travelling is the ultimate expression of narcissism. An unwillingness to see beyond your own small environment, to expose yourself to different views/culture/people.

Why would I go to the dump? If I was targeting you, I would just be searching your trash and come across your bulbs that way. Your wifi network would be pretty easy to find given it would be in the vicinity of the trash bin.

Since the guide wheels steer the bus, the driver only has to apply accelerator/brake and there is no chance of the bus deviating off the track at high speed. So it can travel at a faster speed more safely. The track is also more compac

Curious why you feel it's overengineered? I travelled along the O-bahn for most of my childhood/uni years and I think it's a brilliantly simple system. Stick a couple of guide wheels on a bus, and you've now got a safe,
