Discussed recently on ATP[1] - this is a huge security hole. If you give access to all photos, apparently the app can search through the EXIF data to extract locations and timestamps, and build up a very accurate timeline of your whereabout

Feels like a rough, very early prototype of a cool idea. I think it would be much more interesting if each clue was a question, like, “Frida, which room were you in at 10:30?” etc. Then I would actually need to think about how to use as few

Funny that you bring this up. Just the other day I looked uo the etymology of “character” vs “caricature”. Surprisingly, considering the close similarity both in meaning and sound, they are completely unrelated. You already described “chara

What I’m hearing here is that even a software problem so bad it forced you to focus on nothing except trying to fix it, for a full year, wasn’t bad enough to make the company go under.

I’ll take beautiful street art over beautiful advertisements for the same reason, for what it’s worth.

Beginner programmers are also often uncomfortable with the sheer amount of typing required to do anything. They might try to use copy and paste as a shortcut. So practicing just the typing, rather than both thinking and typing at the same t

As far as I understand, this is even true of lesser known old movies - even the work of figuring out who has the rights to what is unlikely to pay back, so it’s just never released in a digital format.

That’s totally fixable, though. ReadyRunner handles it simply by scrolling all the way from the start, leaving space for the message to grow.

You can start making progress quickly. When two numbers are added, the most you can get in a column is 9+9=18, which gives you a carry of 1. That means the next column will sum to at most 1+9+9=19. That means you can never have a carry high

Let me see if I follow. You made something because it was fun to make it. You “grudgingly” shared it. It had some success, and now you wonder what did you really get in the end? What did I miss? You did it because it was fun. And… it was fu

I found this rather profound and moving. It makes me reflect on my own motivations in creative work. It’s interesting that you’ve come full circle - from living with a need to be seen through your work, to recognizing that that is an unheal

They seem to be doing something of a tick-tock update approach. Not sure if it’s planned or by accident. V2 was a small change, V3 was a big change, V4 is small, and as far as I understand they’re already working on something that might end

I think maybe you are overreacting. No one is saying they’re bad or stupid. It is understandably difficult to get right when they probably have very limited insight into why some people might abandon a payment. But in the end, the effect i

I don’t understand. Would it be sensible to require people using Figma to instead use Jira? Two tools with completely orthogonal use cases. It sounds like you’re describing a different problem.

Well, what counts as a “paradigm”? I can’t see any definition of that. If you’d ask 10 people to divide the history of UI into some number of paradigms, you would for sure get 10 different answers. But hey, why not pick the one that makes f

The theme of both your comments is that if anything is a problem with Jira, it’s all the organization’s fault because they have set it up poorly. I would suggest that it’s 100% Atlassian’s fault that their product is so frequently poorly se
