Just note that abandonware is not a legal term, and the ScummVM team consider it piracy/warez. You don't get supported with problems by ScummVM if you play an illegitimately acquired copy of a game. There ARE some games which are

To add to this, the commercially available versions of the first two Monkey Island games are not ScummVM compatible without some hackery. The games are perfectly playable, indeed, but a lot of people don't have much fondness for the vi

ScummVM 2.8.0 is a pretty big release overall, with the App Store release just being the icing on the cake. The full notes are pretty long![0] The list of supported games has grown a lot. ScummVM is capable of running the Adibou series now,

This is no longer the case in Windows 11. The "trick" to disconnect from the internet worked in the 10 setup procedure, but not 11. The new method to create a local account at installation is to attempt to login to a known bogus a

Looks like her Shamanism business is a side gig. I see her listed as a VP on another non-profit website[0], so I guess she actually does have a track record of non-profit management. It don't think it's entirely unusual for peop

At the risk of sounding like a kagi marketer/shill/peddler/whatever, if it helps at all, it's actually not just search. Sort of. Kagi is slowly rolling out some AI-backed features, and will probably work in other areas

Which ones? Proton via Steam (and even outside of Steam) is doing a fantastic job of most recent games. I don't run Windows at all anymore, and gaming is the primary usage of my desktop.

He uses X11 sometimes! I couldn't quite tell what the DE was, but it might have been XFCE. He found it easier to show us comics in X11 than in textmode emacs, so he swapped to the desktop to do that. This was close to midnight in Londo

Also anectdotal: Ate at a Chinese restaurant with him, he's not gross at the table. I did hug him later and he was very sweaty - but we did just traipse across London in a bit of a rush and he was absolutely exhausted.

Despite years in the Scouts, both as a participant and a Leader, I am embarrassingly bad at knots. I've always had a terrible time following visual directions given to me by someone trying to teach me a knot, and even worse at followin

The Pentium 4 is an extreme example, and I admit I used it quite dishonestly to over-emphasise the fact that Windows 11 runs on CPUs that it claims not to support . A 7th or 6th gen Intel would run Windows 11 quite well, unlike a Pentium

Indeed no pitchforks, but I can see where some concern has come from. On the release of Windows 11 it was stated that only newer Intel and AMD generations were to be officially supported and while workarounds are built in (literally a regis

Yep! Mojang were putting out a game simply titled Scrolls and Bethesda didn't like that, because apparently you can confuse 'Scrolls' for 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim'.
