Hey! Yes, very crowded! But also ripe for change as me and you are doing. Very excited to see how people will use Step CI, Checkly and whoever else wants to join this mission.

Just wanted to hop in here as founder of Checkly that I think this is awesome. Coded API checks, or checks living in your codebase make total sense. I'm also kinda humbled as I launched Checkly as an indie hacker couple years back and

Not directly related but anecdata. We migrated for chart.js to plotly.js to finally bite the bullet and plonk down the $$$ for highcharts. Highcharts is no panacea, but at we just hit performance and capability issues really quickly with al

This post is all true. One caveat (which is mentioned in the post): this person has multiple VC’s in his network and knows multiple founders who have raised on nothing but a deck. Many, many, many future founders are not as lucky. So, I gue

I hope their API and SDK got better. It was a pain to implement and use some years ago. Stripe was light years ahead and we ended up switching. Also the capital demands from Adyen were much higher than Stripe.

Looks cool, but this is exactly what Intercom and a large range of competitors do. Might want to check them out.

I’m always fascinated by people obsessed by productivity and its range of tools. I consider myself pretty highly productive. Typical week had 8+ meetings, calls, follow ups, research, thinking time and sometimes coding. Typical CTO and CPO

I remember doing validation calls with Verisign in Switzerland to get an “extended validation” certificate for a customer. It felt like applying for a passport. We had to fax them stuff too IIRC. Now I issue 100 certificates per day fully a

Had Xbox360, XBone and now series X. The 360 and series X are amazing. The main gripe for XBone was half the features didn’t work in Europe and for some reason the UI was terribly sluggish.

We are using Kinesis. It’s fine. Great actually. We still need to store user logs and generated data persistently. Cold storage is also not an option. This is data that needs to be accessible the moment the event that generates the data hap

For my company, neither egress nor storage cost are the big issue. It’s the API call (PUT) cost. We deal with payloads that are just a little too big for a database (we run Postgres and Clickhouse) but just too frequent (~100 per second) an

I’m in the Netherlands and there is a horse butcher (paardenslagerij) around the corner of my house. Has been there since the seventies. The sausage is quite good, but much fatter than I’d expected. It’s also quite expensive which can make

We checked our Intercom. We spammed. One user got six emails in a 5 day span. There were some separate initiatives going on. We didn't check the settings and current outgoing mail. We will change it. BTW: all of this was done without a

You are correct. I will figure out two things. 1. Why our fancy expensive mailing/marketing tool (Intercom) does not spread these messages in a relaxed fashion (it should) 2. If of those five messages, maybe two were the obligatory &qu

The "dying" of the company seems less relevant than the 1 person company just not being able to deliver the level of service required to compete, be reliable (think support, on call) etc.
