This is correct, my office is on the same street. You can see the protest posters already for a year in coffee shops, hair dressers etc. It's a broad, if not very big, group.

Pretty cool to see company I shared an accelerator and an office with being sold for this generous sum. I just don’t see how a Berlin IOT startup and its culture is going to thrive under a Munich insurance company. Very curious how this pan

I use a specific Lambda function that acts like a sink. It receives messages via SNS from a myriad of other services and its only job is to push these messages to the main applications API. There the actual inserts and updates are done. The

Same here. The two interviewees really did a good job and the whole story conveys Dutch biking lifestyle really well. One note: they did pave over some canals in Utrecht back in the day, but they are being opened up again as we speak.

Hi Marijn, I rely on CodeMirror for a SaaS I run (from Berlin). I will donate what I can. Just one question and please don’t take this the wrong way, but can you provide an insight into how you got to 80k as the target amount?

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and ease of use of Vultr. Really on par with DO.

So a regular EC2 T2.medium with 4GB RAM is $39 while a LightSail 4GB is $20. Damn. Need to switch some EC2 workload to LightSail.

You are right, you never used the word “proud”. You also did not use the words “problem” or “harm” in the post. So the “pride” thing is mostly tone, subtext or between the lines if you will. This is just my opinion so YMMV

I've been screwing around with running Headless Chrome & Puppeteer on Lambda/Serverless/FAAS solutions. It's all a bit of a mixed bag. You CAN run Headless Chrome on AWS Lambda, but the cost involved is pretty crazy

Running Headless Chrome / Chromium is a bit of a hassle on AWS Lambda and other FAAS providers. Chrome requires some specific bindings/binaries to work. I think the Chrome guys and girls convinced their Cloud coworkers to provides

Before the EU and Schengen etc. we (Dutch people) could officially be asked for our passports at the Belgium border. In practice you didn't really notice crossing the border while driving on the highway. No checks, no cops, no custom

There are no real issues. Belgians and Dutch get along fine. It’s mostly seen as a fun, quaint relic and as mentioned below is a bit of a tourist attraction.

Slightly off topic maybe, but it always surprises people that the Netherlands has a border with France. It’s just in the Caribbean on the island of St. Maarten / Saint Martin. Obligatory YouTube clip “Holland vs. The Netherlands” http

I can think of three things. - performance. Local apps tend to just run faster. Not always, but generally. - focus. One app, one function. - security. A local app could easily connect to clusters in your network using local certificates. In

Let me kickstart this discussion. I recognise some use cases: - cross cluster metrics. - quick switching between clusters. - visual, form based one-off deploys. Handy when debugging or doing ad hoc work - visual exploration of a cluster - v

This completely depends on your business. Are you running many cloud based workloads in a Dockerized manner? Are you having trouble orchestrating, monitoring and scaling those workloads? Then use Kubernetes. In most if not all other cases,

That made me chuckle. I’m afraid it might even be half true. Someone should write a good blog post on how Kubernetes is a tech marketing success story. Same could be said for Docker of course.

However well written the article is for beginners, I’d love to a comparison where more real world concerns are part of the equation: authentication, authorization, internationilzation, API interaction, form validation etc.
