Sincerity of course. There's so much work to do on GIMP, especially with GEGL integration and non-destructive editing, and too few hands to work on it. It would actually deserve 5-10 full-time developers given the project size, but 1 f

Oh, you're preaching to the choir. They're the worst. By far, the worst mobile experience, and by far the most aggressive push for their mobile app. I choose not to open their mail on my mobile phone. And obviously I don't wa

My worst problems were with Toptal's website. I even tweeted them about it, but it still leaked memory like crazy. Maybe they fixed it already, but I wouldn't know - they didn't have articles that interest me in a while. Any

Yes. It seems this only works with Intel cards(wifi or ethernet); I don't know the reasons why, though - it might be some firmware support. Also, I find it odd that it can work with the wireless chip - shouldn't the laptop be asso

Yes, it's a very interesting project. I'm already subscribed to their list, I got on their site accidentally. If they do not succeed, the next best thing is to wait until ARM gets powerful enough, and hope they don't go down

I was thinking of this project - https://github.com/corna/me_cleaner This is the one that strips most of the ME (which seems to be Java applets, if I remember correctly Igor Skochinsky's presentation), but there&#

Where do you get your information from? AFAIK, it's only has been stripped down to a bare minimum, putting it in some sort of recovery mode - but it can't be erased from the BIOS chip yet.

The ME/AMT is the nastiest of them all. And those are not the only ones. FSP, the CPU microcode. You can get rid of AMT if you're on older hardware, or your willing to buy a laptop from (US) http://www.libiquity.com

Yeah, probably you're right. And it's not like it would stop the really determined guys - X-Raying stuff would do a part of the trick, and maybe stealing the documentation would the other part.

It would probably be done in few months, if GIMP had a few full-time developers. But as it stands, with people working in their free time, don't expect miracles. If anything, I find it amazing that it's still developed at all.

One interesting idea would be to move the advertising server-side. Just smash a ruby gem in your project, or a PHP file, and let's see how well you'll sleep when you know somebody can inject code on your server whenever they feel
