That's a rather naive way of looking at the outcome. For one, do you really think a someone with the training, experience, and exposure violence of a cop could be outmatched by you? Second, the statement above didn't say much abou

How would heavily armed citizenry help solve the problem? Are you going to put a hole in the head of the officer who takes your cash out of your car? Won't that lead to anarchy or civil war, eventually? Maybe...consider changing the la

Well, we can't blame the costumers - what they have is good enough - how do you motivate them to keep buying the new version? It sounds kinda like the conundrum Adobe had :) Maybe there's a market for the GoPro CC edition?

Well, that might be true. But if you base your whole project around somebodies service, and they change the ToS, or shut it down, what right do you have to complain? On the other hand, if you use GMaps only on the contact page - no big harm

Once you're no longer the underdog, your views on the world shift 180 degrees :) But worry not, everyone is riding a "sine wave" - Google comes, Google goes. There's some physics theory that applies here - entropy, I gue

Depends. If they are the only providers, you might want to avoid it. Take OSM - you could use the API with leaflet and their server, but if they can no longer afford the hosting costs and close the service, you could download a copy of the

I've read the comment. Unfortunately, I lack the motivation right now to read history books, but leaving that aside, a good start would be the USA themselves to lead the way, and get rid of those weapons. Like South Africa did. We cann

Yeah, its age is showing, truth to be told. That's why we have now AGPL for network programs, and LGPL for libraries. About the ambiguity - my feeling about it is that they (Stallman and the lawyers, I suppose) leaned towards the usual

If you've ever read some ToA, or EULA, you won't find GPL that bad regarding the language and length. Also, simplified/explained versions exists, which should make it more digestible. As the author of the article said, it
