I love MIDI, its pretty much a universal standard. Every device I need it on has it (my modular is the exception for sound sources), and just a standard 5 pin DIN socket that is easy to solder. Yes, it could be better but I don’t just toler

My favourite DAW. Think I am going to have to invest in a new DC coupled interface with lots of inputs and outputs now to drive the modular.

I think they changed the law a year or so ago so that would now be illegal.

I don’t think its rare at all if its a managed security system. Ours came with cameras that are only on when the alarm is on.

I don’t remember that at all. In fact I think in Europe they sold out really quickly as it is the ultimate model and although expensive, was still sought after.

Multi-region replication like Cassandra? Sort of a question because the last time I really looked around the release of PostgreSQL 9 there wasn't a solution.

well in the article it does say 24 pcie lanes. Which is a pity that its not so much (I would also like to see how much memory these chipsets/CPUs could support).

Also when I go to the U.S. it’s kind of shocking to see how many people could do with good healthcare but are obviously not able to get it. I want everyone around me to be healthy not just my immediate friends and family.

There is something to be said how amazing it is when everyone around you is also able to get the same health care no matter their income or background.

6 weeks paternity is not very much. 6 months is better but we get 480 days in Sweden. Our children don’t need metal detectors or security fences at school, it’s a given that you take time off if your kids are sick and that the state finance

I use it, and normally everything you posted above would matter for me. But Pinterest works for what I use it for and works really well. So I don't care.

I got it to lag really badly a couple of days ago where I was just sitting waiting for it to complete words. Had to restart, but other than that one time it has felt fine.

The top 40 means so much less today than 15 years ago. I don't know that many people that even bother with it. Older music was just as bad/good as today.

Producers often use reverb for front to back space as well. I with agree that its got more precise, typically when producing a kick for techno I make sure that the power is exactly around the point where the sub is going to be able to play

Interesting read but a pity that the author doesn’t understand the difference between blog and blog post particular as one of his points was attention to detail. If the author is reading this blog is the medium (like magazine or newspaper)

Making a decision purely based upon some posts on HN and the original artical isn’t a good idea either as there is little data on how often this happens and how often (and pulling the plug could happen with another IAAS). You need to weigh

What are you basing that on? There is plenty of Windows now being used in audio. I use a MacBook Pro 2017 QuadCore, and still off loading audio work to a PC. The laptop uses the fan really heavily. Granted the i7 iMac is pretty damn good, b

Yeah Hetzner would be awesome. We already run some stuff over there so I could foresee spinning up some transcoders if you have connectivity there.
