Climate science is much more complicated - there are many things you could disagree with beyond will tons of carbon change things, yes or no. Like are we doomed or will it just get a bit warmer before we switch to solar for example. There a

The thrust of the argument seems the wrong way around. It's roughly: - Knowledge of how to make Fogbank etc. was lost when the people retired and or died. AI will make things worse, especially for code. In reality if they'd used A

There's a lot of that going on in the Ukraine war. Defenses include other drones to take out the attacking drones, shooting them down and cutting communications to them.

There was a certain arrogance from Trump - the Ukrainians offered to help out with years of up to date experience countering Iranian style done warfare but of course no.

I think an EU type agreement might be the way to go. Separate countries but in a union. I know Xi would hate it as he wants to be the ruler of all but compare say France and Germany - years of peace under the EU arrangement with Ukraine &#x

The water between Taiwan and China makes it pretty hard to invade unlike Ukraine or Hong Kong. It's how Taiwan came to be in the first place - the Chinese government retreated there to escape the communist take over and it's held

Speaking as someone along the lines of an excitable AI maximalist, I think he never asked one about the "the bits vs atoms barrier". Robots and similar, duh. This feels to me like someone in 1905 saying ok the Wright brothers mana

Mice seem to have quite a good representation of the 3d environment around them and motor skills. I had one in my flat run off an jump through an approx 1 x 2 inch hole 6 inches off the ground and about 10 inches from where it jumped from.

Do most young people need to understanding the fundamentals of mathematical logic? We seem to get by without that. Even at the presidential level, today: >RFK Jr claims basic math rules don’t apply to White House https://www.i

We used to keep similar axolotls as pets. I believe the abandoned pet thing - they are fun for a while but then you wonder what to do with them. We donated ours and the tank to a school. They'd probably survive a while in the wild in t

I wasn't really saying starving. Just hungry enough to come ask for food and eat it. I think the lady in question was likely drug addicted but even so usually even the addicts are fed.
