Also, I'm not sure but if a road that normally has several cars a minute goes to zero cars in five minutes say, it's likely it's blocked.

Alcohol is quite different to cigarettes. It's fun and part of the culture - most people drink and the country is full of pubs and restaurants serving it. You couldn't ban it without most of the country, including me, objecting. C

I basically agree and think it's a great shame that the US didn't say don't invade Ukraine or we'll have the USAF bomb the invading troops. Russia couldn't reasonably use nukes just because they were being stopped i

Putin seems to fairly consistently do what is best for Putin. Using nukes would probably have him rapidly end up like Khamenei senior.

I was thinking that. For most of the last sixty years Russia / the USSR was the peer adversary usually mentioned for NATO to fight. I think they look weaker than they are because Ukraine has actually been pretty competent in the fight.

Yeah like the famous French Coup. You never hear a Ukrainian say our country had a coup. It's a Russian propaganda lie so they can feel better about murdering their peaceful democratic neighbours to try to steal their stuff.

I read the article that he links to and he's thinking of John Deere tractors that were stolen by the Russians from a dealer in Ukraine and got bricked remotely as a result. It showed the tech exists to do such things.

A lot of the problem is with the investment bubble aspect of AI rather than the tech itself. If people who wanted to use AI had to pay appropriate server costs the demand would be about ten times less and GPU, RAM and SSD prices no much cha

It's quite impressive how badly we've done in cutting fossil fuel use in that. Gas+Oil+Coal has gone up 71% since the first IPCC report in 1990 to the amount for 2024.
