Perhaps I'm just not disciplined enough with money, but I know if I had that type of cash I'd definitely be doing some really interesting things artistically to push the scope and scale of art today. I'd love to see art of 10

A friend who was the co-founder of a very large company in the early 2000's that went public told me two things shortly after meeting him: 1) Take having fun seriously 2) Getting lucky is fine I know he worked hard on things, but basic

Sadly, no mention of microglia as a possible cause. I can't explain it myself, but someone who was close to me was researching this extensively and was often frustrated by the over-focus on amyloid.

I think one issue there however is that nearly anyone can sell through Amazon. I assume (perhaps incorrectly) that to be a pharmacy distributing via Amazon would require some level of licensure well beyond what it takes to sell XBox control

Type safety would change my world. Lack of it is the #1 thing causing errors for my company. You can either program defensively around it, jump through NilObject patterns (about the best option), or over-document every method which then wil

I work on Ruby 95% of the time. If there's no well-configured Rubocop setup, I get that into place as my first order of business almost immediately.

Pretty good. I played around 4th/Ice Age through Mirage when I was in grade school. There's some neat new things. There's the Commander format, which is neat. I've got no idea what semi-pro/pro playing looks like th

I decided to shave my head a few times in my 20's just to see how it looked on me. It looks great, so I'm not worried about that fallback plan. Thankfully at 35, I have barely receding hair and a blue mohawk, so I'm probably

This happens way too often. I wish I knew why systems ended up like this. Seems to be a business opportunity to fix them once and for all. This is 2018, we can do better

So... I'm a white dude, and I 100% think I could get a job at Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc and that none of these policies would hold me back. Why are you so afraid of these policies? If you're good you'll still get the job.

I think you're missing the point. The issue is about disenfranchisement, barriers to employment, systemic power dynamics, historic (and current) laws biased against groups, etc. Those in the conservative party do not have a barrier to

This is going to sound stupid, but every time I flush a toilet on a plane I have the visceral feeling of the plane being depressurized and rather dislike it. I know the plane is safe and it's a fine mechanism, but still...

I concur; just replacing some sewer pipes on Cedar St in Somerville is taking 2+ years of construction, and plans have been underway since 2013 and still aren't done. It's a residential street without too much odd about it. https

I'm a Rubyist. Why are Python users so doubled down on keeping on with Python 2? I can't imagine using Ruby 1.8.x at this point, and even older versions seem well outside the realm of consideration.

I think you're touching on something here. Around the launch of the iPhone (and rise of Androids) many companies that got on the mobile-first bandwagon survived, and those that assumed web-only to be the best way really quickly died. I
