Yep. What were App Annie's numbers? 35% of SC's daily average users in the U.S. don't use or can't be found on Facebook on any given day. 46% can't be reached on IG and 58% on Messenger. Snapchat is killing in the m

I didn't see exact numbers or returns for MBPs. Satisfaction is another thing. If alternatives are worse, a purchase is not necessarily from a satisfied customer.

So much wasted development effort. I applaud Princeton and this team though. Ad tech is just a flawed attempt to monetize user data which has alienated users. Online ads are a security and privacy risk. Developers need to stop supporting ad

Ad tech is a nightmare. Since advertisers and publishers failed to listen, most users are now lumping all online ads into the same categories of security and privacy risks. The "free" ad supported biz model is broken.

Disagree. I'm avoiding the Touch Bar for the same reasons that this article mentions. I'm sure the media and artist group might like it, but touch typists and devs in general don't. The regular feedback I encounter is very me

Small segment, maybe. Influential folks making product decisions that impact popularity of Apple products though. Many of us don't want to remap keys on different machines. Esc is rote memory and easy for touch typists - why we ignore

Perhaps you're right - though Flash developers had to adjust. Ad tech really needs to go.

Yep. The reason why we are in this mess and attack on Internet privacy is because of Ad Tech. We need to get developers to stop supporting ad tech. The stigma of working in ad tech needs to result in enough stink on one's employment hi

This is the funniest thing I've seen today. Did they not get the memo that Flash is dead?

When do we kill ad tech so that our data isn't as monetizeable?

Customer Experience/Support was my main background. It really helps to understand a product when you support it first hand. Even when I was a PM, I devoted some time listening to support calls. Next, I went into QA/QE which was al

I do get that side, but they can implement a better solution. Allow VPN usage and library access if the exit node matches the same region as billing records for example.

I find Reed Hastings take on VPN usage personally exhausting.

I don't particularly care about the Netflix tracking, but the security ramifications of having to turn off my VPN if I want to use Netflix. Netflix is a security risk because of their VPN policy.

RMS is right about the VPN block which surprises me that others in tech are giving Netflix a pass on this. It's not just a matter of Netflix tracking, it is anyone else in the middle - especially if watching over free WiFi while on the

IDK. I see as lot of negative sentiment as IG ripps-off off SC. Being owned by FB is not a particularly feel-good reason to choose IG over SC either - but most probably don't care about privacy.

I think it has taken Twitter management a very long time to publicly identify what it is. There have been many attempts under different CEOs though. "The people's news network" in real-time seems to ring the truest for me.

Does this service handle more than 3,200 tweets or are all such apps limited to this number by Twitter? I've been looking for a safe and reliable service - depending on who buys Twitter.

Twitter has had a serious UX problem for ages. I would love to really understand how their UX team functions and the chain of command that led to such a very bad experience.

Since legalese needs to accompany ads, what's to prevent blockers from blocking certain elements that contain it? Just serving ads from the same domain can't possibly be the only "solution" FB is relying on.

I'm glad that there is sound reasoning around this topic. Removing the 3.5mm is just a plain stupid idea that is going to anger users unnecessarily. It's a really bad design decision and UX fail.

Though the argument is that it's closed source, there's a level of trust I have for Wickr and team. There's even less meta involved with Wickr since no phone number is collected and the app forensically deletes messages. Nico
