Do you have a source for this? I thought I remembered that the 7900 XTX trades blows with the 4090 in some games even with both cards at stock settings. (Though of course the 4090 completely blows it out of the water in other games.)

I'm tempted to just downvote you and move on with my life but I'm genuinely curious. Given that it's meaningless to Deploy something without Integrating the changes, what do you _actually_ mean by "You don’t need [CI]. S

Am I a curmudgeon? Not to take away from this cool writeup, but I'm familiar with a few CI/CD tools, particularly QuickBuild, Jenkins and Spinnaker. So this jumped out at me: > Our CI process was pretty standard: Every commit i

This is oversimplified but hopefully close enough. A couple of versions ago, Wizards of the Coast released a subset of the D&D rules for free with a pretty open license. That free subset was called the SRD and the license was the OGL 1.

I have an old friend who is blind. The official Twitter client is a LOT less accessible than the one she was using. This change impacts her ability to use Twitter considerably. And before you start with the "well, she's probably b

Yes. In nuclear fusion, "ignition" means that you get more energy out than the lasers impart. This is the first time anyone has pulled that off in decades of trying, which is a big deal. But practical nuclear fusion would of cours

This article was a welcome relief after many of the others the past couple of days. Well-written, clear, optimistic but not hand-wavy, and certainly not "breathless" or loaded with PR.

Apparently the semiconductor industry already has lasers that are 20x more efficient than what was used in this experiment.

I know it's not quite the same thing but I started using rtorrent[0] a very long time ago and it still works well for my needs. Is there anyone who has used both who can comment on the pros and cons? [0] https://github.com&#

Yes, apologies! I'm so deep in the AMD/Intel/Nvidia rumor mill I forget how normal humans talk, sometimes. Tech news people tend to use "AIBs" as shorthand for "second-party (add-in) board partners" -- tha

I used to vape. I even made my own vape juice, for a time, which is quite a bit easier than brewing your own beer! Note that the linked Harvard study is from 2015(!); the vast majority of vape juices no longer contain diacetyl. Acetylpropio
