I started using IRC around age, I dunno, 10-12 (30s now), lots of efnet then freenode, at one point I was an ircop until our childish antics got our server desynced. I don't use it anymore. Between the insular cliques and the fact that

I never understood the point of twitter until I started following journalists, professors, lawyers, etc. I still wish Twitter had Google+'s circles feature, so I could group those (along with engineers) and flip between them. I don

Then they should research the companies in the post and if they're interested in a change apply as well. No listing in that post is catering to an ex-FB employee by any means.

I don't really agree with this. I despise Facebook and happily retweeted a post a few weeks ago specifically aimed at helping FB engineers find work elsewhere. I'd prefer to help good people get out of bad places. https:/&#x

I can't fathom the morale at this place. I really hope things get better for these poor people caught in the middle of this shit show.

I mean one is giving me tons of entertainment and one is opening an encrypted file on my machine and has a lot of alternatives and was already considered overpriced. If you asked me 6+ years ago if I'd pay for $370 worth of 1password f

I was actually really impressed with 1passwordX, it made me switching off of OSX almost a non-issue but you're right, I didn't realize it didn't support offline vaults. They really don't like that.

Bitwarden didn't allow Android fingerprinting when I used it a few months ago (limitation in one of their electron libraries) which pretty much ruined it for me unfortunately. Not sure if this works in IOS. edit: I'm wrong, it did

Bitwarden will be the most recommended. I tried it to move off of 1password a few months ago, there was a time where 1password kept breaking the extension in every OS I was using. I can't remember exactly what was missing but there wer

I feel like I've spent an absolute fortune on 1password over the last decade. I'm pretty sure it was, what, $70 when I got it 6+ years ago? Now I'm paying monthly (2.99 or 4.99/mo x .. 3-5 years?) which is pretty ironic

I'm clearly not a single guy renting 4 bedroom victorian homes. I'm more talking about the people who charge you $80-150/night to clean a 1 bedroom studio, especially if it's a guesthouse in their back yard and I'm

I'm old enough to have been addicted to things and gotten off of them multiple times in my life, usually nicotine and caffeine. I'll go 3-5 years on then 2-5 years off. Each time I get off I have 2-3 weeks where I'm an absolu

That's the vibe I get on just about every one of Gitlabs new screed posts on here recently. Hopefully there actually is some employee consensus on decisions, though.

When I was a kid my house was "broken into" but because the door was unlocked the police couldn't qualify it as breaking and entering. It was merely trespassing and my neighbor who did it got off. I was 12, these details may

I've done a few stints where I traveled and worked full-time. I'd use the weekends once a month to move between airbnbs in different State/Cities and it didn't affect my work at all, 9-6+ m-f I was available and online.
