I agree. Every times I receive a phone call, I know that: Someone wants somethings from me ("please can you do this or that for me"). Or it's bad news. :-/ Email and text messages are better tools for me: you answer when

Because users don't spend their money to buy and sell goods, they just buy and hold in hope of getting rich later. Hyperinflation is bad of course, but moderate/controlled inflation is a need to make a currency works IMHO.

Another thing I realized it's nonsense lately: object oriented programming. It's often an over-engineered bloat that only works for trivial Programming 101 courses (yeah the famous Employee or Bike class). But in 10+ years of prog

I agree modern websites look a lot nicer... Or do they? They all look the same: big images, not much text, the top bar, yeah this newsletter thing to upsell with these crappy (but effective) marketing techniques... Somehow I feel old school

The web feels slower than it was 10 years ago too. It's fascinating how we tend to over-engineer and bloat things.

This guy doesn't sound authentic at all. He 's like a marketing guru, teaching you how you will get rich if you buy his product.

Is there still some new features coming to Ruby? It seems the language is not this cutting edge technology it was once. I mean we see more changes in Java and PHP than Ruby these days.

Yeah, I have been working on the web for 10 years. When I started, it was fun, because I knew nothing, and that seemed magical to me, but the more I work on this platform, the more I realize it's crap. We are now at peak crap. Did you

I have worked with Python/Flask, and I even built my own micro-framework on top of Ruby/Rack. It was nice, but I am far more productive with PHP, the workflow feels more natural than a cgi-like stack.

Yes precisely, but it seems we have all forget that: most of modern web framework are over-engineered and bloated. PHP sticks to this web simplicity.

I'm excited! :) PHP is IMHO the most productive and easiest platform for web development: - a request - a response - templating - no shared stated And that's it! But the language syntax has so many quirks. So it's cool if Hac

In the long run, I tend to think it's better to have a good brand name rather than a descriptive domain name with keywords. We all go on amazon.com to buy books, not on bookstore.com.

Yes maybe and the distance between the Earth and the Moon could explain why we don't see the Moon rotation : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_distance_(astronomy)#/me...

I agree. I'm not a crazy conspiracy theorist, but this looks photoshopped. The clouds are not moving and the moon is not rotating at all : http://imgur.com/prywsJq

Systemd is arguably the most hated Linux software ever. Why have all major distros switched to this thing ? I don't get it.

Ubuntu with Gnome 2 was really a good user experience back then. Gnome 3 is all about the desktop/mobile convergence, yet nobody to this day uses Gnome 3 on a mobile. Was it worth it ? Sometimes, it may be better to narrow your niche i

I love to play with words. They often convey meanings. I'm French and "the death" translates into "la mort". When you say "la mort", you hear "l'âme hors" (the soul out), which tells you we

I live in Switzerland and there is no chance people will vote in favor of a national wage. It's too edgy for now.
