Most of the network was fine, it only affected the main Matrix server and anyone who federated with the spammed rooms. If you weren't in a room being attacked or left it you were fine.

There's no evidence that a hangover is caused by alcohol withdrawal in most cases[0]. I think the thought behind "hair of the dog" remedies like a beer with breakfast is either A) getting a little drunk again helps you ignore

Jellyfin supports all the major platforms[0] to some degree. The web client is definitely the most polished though. I've only used web, Android, and Kodi; Kodi being the flakiest. RTMP is a very well supported protocol, you can watch i

Ah, sorry, SyncPlay is the watch party feature I was thinking of. I know it's available in the web client (what we used) and the Android app. RTMP gives you lower latency and more control over what's being shown when combined with

Jellyfin supports "Watch parties" which I've used for movie nights in the past. It works well enough. But if you want this going real-time and continuously it sounds like you want more of an RTMP stream setup. I recommend Mov

Interesting, I didn't know that. Though I'd argue that's not quite the same as alcohol and/or alcohol withdrawal are active causes of death while this seems more like a side-effect/contributor. At least from what I&

Major Releases are supported for at least 3 years, but are officially supported until a successor is released. Minor releases are supported for 18 months. So that is a downside, it is not quite the support level of CentOS, albeit having a d

matrix.org does not, though it does have a prompt for e-mail on registration page. There's a line of text under it explaining that this is for optional opt-in contact discovery and password resets.

Not OP but no channels require you identify yourself through email/phone/etc to join. As far as I know there's not even a mechanism to do that. Third Party ID's (email etc) are only used for opt-in contact discovery.

If you read the article, you'll see their explanation: Vim is the most popular command-line editor (from a Stack Overflow survey) and all of the instructors know how to use it. The course is pretty *nix based so it makes sense to pick

With all due respect, the first half of comment is literally prefaced with "the moral argument". Personally I believe that argument should be enough, but you gotta play to the audience.

I think I'd need to see a better argument that we're moving the burden of consequences. Riding a bike with no helmet is known risky behavior; if they get hit by a car or fall or their bike and have to go to the hospital, would you

Matrix is an open, federated protocol so something like this can't happen. Worst that could happen is bad stuff happens to Element (the flagship client) at which point people can either fork it or simply use another client.
