The tessel looks pretty cool but $99 is a lot for a development board. For $35 you can get a Raspberry Pi with much more power, network access out of the box, and the ability to run node. I don't see how the tessel can compete with tha

Ahh I totally see how that could be taken that way. Don't get me wrong, the Raspberry Pi, Parallella, etc. are all incredibly feats of engineering (I couldn't even dream of building the processors or chips behind them). What I mea

Interesting. Thanks for sharing this font! I've been trying it out for a bit and really like its feel. Great work!

+1 for weebly! Their tools have been awesome for when I need something good looking up quickly.

As someone who writes a large amount of node/js, this would definitely make my life easier for when I have to write out a package.json, some other sort of json config, or test data (which happens a lot). All of the proposed changes wou

Is this negativity really necessary? If you're going to leave a comment about something not working at least say what went wrong and what could fix the issues you had. I'm sick of comments like this constantly polluting HN's

Sure we're attempting to connect with other people, but I argue that it's degrading the quality of the connections we're supposed to be making in real life.

Thanks :)! And yeah, I have a similar phone laying around that I've been thinking about trying. The battery life on those suckers is absolutely insane relative to smartphones!

Looks useful. I think the spinning animation could be removed/shortened (it might be a bit distracting in its current form), but other than that you did a great job!

I really like where you're going with this, and I honestly don't mind the use of twitter for authentication. You've already addressed the double sign-in thing, but I think my biggest issue has come from Disqus loading time. A

It doesn't have retina support, so everything looks pixelated.

Congrats to the virtualbox team! I still wish they'd consider adding retina support on OS X; that's the one thing keeping me from using it 24/7 :(.

I get the feeling that overloading the division operator for paths is a really bad idea for clarity... To someone who is unfamiliar with the path.py package, it looks like you're trying to divide some sort of object by a string. Not to

I've had a similar experience with my iPhone 5 as well. It was significantly worse during the beginning of the beta builds, however now it seems to be better than iOS6 (for me). I'm guessing it's something similar to you – a

Has anyone noticed the sharp number of softpedia links getting posted around? I'm not sure why, either, (unless it's just spamming on their part) as the quality of content on the site is absolutely awful.

If you were in a similar situation, would you not try to mentally note as many details as possible? Especially if something came of it, you would want to remember as much as possible about the cops who interrogated you, what they asked, etc

I think cjdns[1] is a step in this direction. You should check it out if you're interested in an encrypted and truly distributed web. [1] http://cjdns.info/

I feel like this is something better suited for a dedicated site/application rather than being slapped onto HN. Glassdoor essentially does this already.

I actually opened an issue about this, which was closed pretty quickly because apparently they don't use CocoaPods internally: https://github.com/octokit/octokit.objc/issues/61

Looks good! It's small, simple, and does exactly that it should. I was happy to see that the use of jQuery animations worked fine on my iPhone as well (I was expecting it to be choppy due to the lack of CSS animations). Awesome work!

I wonder what the rationale behind not including an LED for the camera was. I can't imagine it was cost or anything. Such a simple addition would have definitely done a long ways in reducing the fear people seem to (rightfully) have with it
