Batteries are a pretty set-and-forget solution though. Out of all the maintenance/thought I put towards my server, the UPS takes the least amount of attention. Though it really is only good for outages <2 or 3 hours. If it’s longer

These are all good points - and ones I’ve been trying to follow for the past few months. Rule five was the most important one for me. Anytime I have an urge to doomscroll, I make a conscious effort to do something IRL instead. Taking up a d

Counting your breaths seems like a better way to do it. When I tried wake-induced LD'ing, I didn't have any strategy in mind when it came to what I should be thinking of. When I was right at the boundary of dreaming, my thoughts w

I used to be heavily into lucid dreaming back in the early 00s along with others in the Dream Views forum. That was a wild time with people making new ways to induce a lucid dreaming (with techniques usually ending in -ILD). If you told us

I'd call it piracy in a way. Ads are how that specific piece of content is made available - whether it be for paying file hosting costs, creator living expenses, video production, etc. Consuming media without providing compensation for

This is an amateurish take on marketing yourself on YouTube. The algorithm is /not/ like the lottery. My wife is a content creator on YT and hasn’t spent a dime on advertising. The free advertising isn’t in the form of search resu

Every big corp c-suite executive has armed guards. It's not related to the ire they draw, but rather the board weighing the risk of someone taking them hostage vs the cost of the guards.
