I don't think this approach favors the talkers / story spinners too much. It is the other way around! It is a nerd test. You can get every nerd talking if you ask them to tell you about a special skill or project they really care

I like IF that is not about puzzles but about adventure stories and social relationships. There opened a new IF universe for me. I recommend the games of "Choice of Games" for that.

No, they used a Lithium IRON battery. LiFePO₄ literally means Lithium Iron Phosphate. These batteries are safer, more thermally stable, and have a longer cycle life compared to typical Lithium-Ion (LiCoO₂) batteries. However, LiFePO₄ has a

I see where this is going. The next step to create training data is a real human with a bodycam. There is only the need to connect the real body movement (step forward, turning left, etc) to typical keyboard and mouse game control events, t

Yes, we can imagine a future where all cab drivers are unemployed, replaced by autonomous driving. However, we don't know when this will happen, because autonomous driving is a much harder problem than the hype from a few years ago sug

Because you don't need a firewall on a sensibly configured desktop computer. If you have daemons that listen to incoming connections, you only want to run them if they are sane and secure. A firewall makes sense when you don't tru

Transparent touch screens are a big thing in many sci-fi tv shows. The set designers have no clue about usability. Seeing the background through my monitor would be the worst thing ever (is this the button? Oh no, it's my dog).

I totally understand the drive to a more modern shell language. But why translate Amber into bash, why not execute it directly? Why there isn't an Ambersh? We got some great BASH alternatives: Zsh, Fish, Elvish, Nushell, Xonsh. I did n

The youth of today simply don't have it in them! Unlike us back then, they're just not as cool, not as strong, not as smart... This complaint is as old as mankind and has always been wrong. It seems to be a feature of human thinki

When I search for "digital masquerade" on Google, the first result is a book with this title from the author Jia Tan. I assume that is how the attackers got their fake name. Or they think using this author's name is a joke.
