Seems pretty simple to me. Keep in mind it's not analyzing things to see where the error is (address line, I/O pin, which chip, etc). It's just a simple track errors per dimm, then remove the dimm. This works with Linux an

Not going to agree on that one, the message was generally Nvidia is screwing gamers, but ANYTHING else. Much like the general news of AMD server chips, tons of press on Intel's shrinking Xeon marketshare. Sure people are talking about

What had me worried is that the 4080 12GB has a 192 bit wide memory interface, same width as the RTX 3060 and less than the RTX 3060 Ti. Sure they worked on the caches to improve performance, but I always worries that some games will do poo

Heh, for some things. Tons of reviews saying $900 for the 4080 12GB is insane. The 4080 12GB is after all a 3060 update with 192 bit wide memory interface. Even the 3060 Ti has a 256 bit wide memory interface. Definitely had me decide to

Indeed, apparently Nvidia misjudged the GPU forecast and the crash of crypto mining on GPUs and ended up with a ton of stock. Apparently AMD was more accurate, so here's hoping AMD beats Nvidia to the punch at the $300, $400, and $600

Yup, doubling the memory bandwidth, doubling the memory channels, and doubling the PCIe bandwidth, and switching to DDR5 is placing a premium on the new AM5 platform for AMD. Similar happened with the Alder lake launch, which had the same

Voyager 1 uses 22 watts and 1970s technology to communicate from 21 light hours away. Radio encoding has come a long way since then. In particular ft8/js8call uses an encoding that can communicate at over 20 db below the noise floor,

This isn't new, there's been many discussions. But generally you spend billions making lasers, on the ground, in orbit, and on the moon has been suggested. You make the space craft with a sail a few atom thick surface tuned for

I have a pixel 6 pro, and it does look like I can't wash out the brightest. However on a grey scale test image I can lose the bottom 1/3rd of the range by going too dark. Maybe the brightness cap is to save battery.

Assuming a perfect screen, yes. But at some point the brightest pixels on the screen will get no brighter, but all the other pixels will. So the dynamic range decreases. Similar happens when dim enough.

Those CPU cores are pretty lame compared to the Apple M1. It does however have more than a 128 bit wide memory interface, which is very rare. I can only think of the M1 pro (256 bit), m1 max (512 bit), and m1 ultra (1024 bit) that have wid

Well the storage was crazy efficient, I kept checking to make sure it was recording what I thought it was. No way 50M hits could fit in a file that small... Timestamps, especially north of 1000 hits/sec have many bits in common. URL,

Sad, especially when Ryzen chips have dual 10G support in the silicon, but only enables in on some products in the name of product differentiation. Dual 10G cards are generally still pretty expensive, and motherboards with dual 10G are oft

Kinda cool, but if you want radon levels why not buy a radon detector? Like this one: https://www.airthings.com/wave-plus No need to try to find and calibrate some used Russian geiger counter.
