Heh, for some things. Tons of reviews saying $900 for the 4080 12GB is insane. The 4080 12GB is after all a 3060 update with 192 bit wide memory interface. Even the 3060 Ti has a 256 bit wide memory interface. Definitely had me decide to wait to see how AMD does in Nov.

It gets more people talking about NVIDIA. That is worth more than you waiting to see what AMD does.

Not going to agree on that one, the message was generally Nvidia is screwing gamers, but ANYTHING else. Much like the general news of AMD server chips, tons of press on Intel's shrinking Xeon marketshare. Sure people are talking about Intel, as a lesson on what not to do.

Bad press is not what caused Intel to lose marketshare. AMD server chips kicked their asses. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_causation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_cau...

bad press is free marketing for the enemy.

Agreed, but the bad press spread the word which made people who hand been buying intel servers forever realize that there's a better choice out there.
