The news is so sensationalized and editorialized I think it detracts from your understanding of reality.

I’ll take a bet with you on that. Nobody is going to deport citizens.

I think deportation is permanent. But regardless, it’s a daydream. The courts won’t allow it, for better or worse.

I would probably have gone with generating C here. You don't need all the safety of the Rust compiler, you're the one generating the code. As you point out, you can check all the constraints you want before you compile it.

Cracking down on legal immigrants, skilled immigrants makes no sense. That’s what built America. Cracking down on illegal immigration makes plenty of sense. I hope the administration can see the difference.

On the contrary, I think he got everyone's attention and they're coming to the bargaining table willing to make a good deal for the US. It's exactly the tactics espoused in Art of the Deal. I think there are two things at pla

Textbook. His textbook. Art of the deal. He's not unstable, just very aggressive. He did have a plan. We can argue about the merits of his plan, but dismissing him and his advisors as stupid or insane is underestimating them.

I'd love to know what horrible library / code the author was using where sandboxing it like this seemed like the best alternative.

I thought surely an integer could be inlined into the interface, I thought Go used to do that. But I tried it on the playground, and it heap allocates it: https://go.dev/play/p/zHfnQfJ9OGc

Likely for Iran, they're overkill for Yemen. Hopefully it's just to put pressure on them for the negotiations. But I expect it's also to be ready if diplomacy fails.

You seem triggered. You’re attacking me and assuming lots of things. I’m secular and don’t live in the US. Europe is struggling economically, having been left in the dust by the US in the last decade. On top of this it is suffering major so

Equitable is a terrible goal. Taken to extremes, it's communism. Where everyone ends up equally poor. It's a noble goal and idea in theory, but put into practice it causes great misery and poverty. Because fundamentally it's

Or unluckily. Europe has Christian roots, values, and dreams. Cutting that out without also destroying or transmuting Europe is not necessarily possible. It seems to me that the rise of woke ideology is an attempt to replace a religion size

I’m deeply skeptical of UBI. For one it would amount to rapid inflation that would erode much of the purported benefits. This is hard to argue with after we watched pandemic stimulus do exactly this. It made wealth inequality substantially

Model Y has a fantastic safety record. I find this hard to believe. Do you have a source for your claim? NHTSA gives a 1-5 star rating for vehicle safety and both the Model 3 and Model Y score 5 stars in all 3 categories: Frontal Crash:

It fits the narrative, who needs logic? Clearly the two are not connected - it just hasn't been enough time for insurance rates to be adjusted based on recent happenings. The industry does not react that fast.

Exactly. The stock market only got back to the highs of 1929, in inflation adjusted terms by 1960. So worst case, it can take 30 years or more to recover. Japan took even longer.

The market might still end up for the year, it will just be a more volatile year. It would be very unlikely to see another double digit gains year in a row. That being said, it could also crash hard and not recover to these levels for a dec
