So what happens in cases like these? Looks like RustDesk doesn't have a Copyright notice or copyright info in the license or source code. This codebase comes along and has no attribution information to make it obvious that it is indeed

IANAL, but if incriminating shit has already been said, what's keeping law enforcement agencies and district attorney's from taking it up? The more they wait around twiddling thumbs, even if the strategy is to build a robust case

Govts would pretty much get the app delisted from app stores for violating the law as soon as the app got some traction. This is partly why Govts are so persistent about data-localization norms while in the past companies got away by storin

First thought that popped into my head was Zuck in his VR avatar chomping on a tub of virtual popcorn reading this saying, "Send this man a bouquet". Won't be long before shady lawsuits along similar lines follow. It will soo

As someone with a ThinkPad from 2018, I consider general-purpose compute a problem that was solved by Intel 8th gen i5 (and higher). Bumped the RAM and SSD after I got it. Got my battery replaced a few months ago, and I'll happily repl

That would not be advisable. If you do end up moving to Debain but start missing features, Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) may be a better fit. Looking at the way Canonical is operating, as a Linux Mint Cinnamon user, I sure am glad they&#

I suppose two issues are at play: centralized OSS project stewardship that alters direction every 3-5 years to meet evolving org goals, and people building consulting careers on top of OSS projects that are strongly aligned with org goals (

Thanks for taking the time to address concerns here. Much appreciated! Most of the anxiety and concern isn't from the Flutter project itself so I wholly empathize, but from Google's history in the dev space. Virtually anyone who h

100% this. I don't know if this is a PR problem, but it very much feels like Flutter is a project that will live and die by Google's sword. Go doesn't come with this perception. Projects that make it big from within Google ne

If we are speculating why Google is now caring to pay attention to user reports, I strongly feel such things usually precede a wave of user monetization. I would not be surprised if the ads situation gets worse or some other egregious actio

Is this the result of (a) uninstallation of a package (b) you've installed the server edition? If you previously had a working GUI desktop, if you have sudo access, you can probably fix it with: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install

This is very cool! I wonder if Videogrep works better with videos sourced from Youtube (consistent formats, framerates, bitrates) compared to arbitrary sources. I've used ffmpeg before to chop video bits and merge them before. Mixed re

I went down that rabbithole when I had to set up Graphql with federation. The reason it seems complicated is because they're attempting to fit bootstrap processes of different libraries into their own IoC style by writing tiny wrappers
