I agree. In many cases, don't start with either (app or site). In other cases (or in cases where you've grown up to the point of needing an app or site), start with one that is right for your user.

Most browsers still don't have a second line of defense (like password managers do), correct? So, if a user has access to my browser for two mins, they can see all my passwords in plain text. They can't if my passwords are in pass

I used to do something like this too before I moved to password managers. The reasons were: - If a password on a website is stolen or if the website forces me to change password, then my "rules based password generation" becomes a

This is a very good point. Before seeing this point, my initial reaction was, "Nope, it's way too early to worry about quantum computing." But, the security cost / risk of being few years late can be so high for nations

Exciting research for someone who did their best work recently. But maybe scary for someone who think their best work happened few years back.

Thank you! Do you recommend a few books or courses that would have better / more relevant coverage for people interested in the space?

Very cool! But, as others said, I'd want to look at the latency. Some animations in Dark Souls 3 are 8-10 frames long (ie, about 300ms). Reacting to such quick animations may completely fall apart depending on the latency introduced by

How is your experience with WSL? Do you get stuck in a lot of corner cases with it? Or does it work seamlessly most of the time? Guess not, considering you’d “greatly prefer Linux working on root.”

Such articles always give too much importance to the hardware (which is somewhat important, no doubt) and not enough importance to the software. Many people are looking for quality alternatives to Macbooks, Mac Mini, etc (myself included).

They are talking about things like generics. Considering the years it took for a team of people to build Go, I think it’s fair to assume they didn’t just forget about generics and that it was an intentional decision.
