Not necessarily. Ubuntu LTS kernel is often very far behind and you have to rely on Canonical to backport drivers for you. e.g. Vulkan on my 5700 XT didn't work (despite AMD being very good at writing kernel drivers!) because the Ubunt

You’re not going to convince me otherwise dude. :) I have consoles and a powerful gaming PC. I use both regularly. For me they’re good for different things. My Nintendo Switches get the most use.

I’m focusing mainly on the hardware here. If your sole advantage is being able to strong arm your customers into paying you for repair, then that’s shameful. FWIW I’m guilty of typing this from my iPhone.
