If this thing is trained on my commit messages we’re all doomed. Or else we’ll be able to type “fixed the thing” and have a whole app written.

That’s usually my take, but I still worry about a few things: * which stack will still be around in 1/2/5years? * which stack Will other teammates or future devs be productive in. I’m still searching for a very light, productive o

Rabbit trail: What is the state of non-ai tech to assist in building or defending cases? I vaguely know a thing called LexusNexus exists, but not what it does. Is there a system where a lawyer can search, find related law, then fill out a

This is what I’m looking for too. I have three places I plug in displays: home office, work office, no displays (coffee shop). I have specific windows I want in specific places when plugged into external displays at home or work. Browser

If I understand the mechanism, LTT did a video on similar albeit larger more expensive version of these a few months back. Had some drawbacks IIRC but maybe the chip design addresses that. https://youtu.be/NY-gA_zA_os

I thought cryptography was the big thing here. Whoever has a big enough one of these could break tls and other encryption. Which means we enter an arms race where we need quantum to build qc-proof encryption before qc gets cheap and easy

I agree it's gotten too complicated. In my mind, the evolution has gone like this: 1) Plain HTML/CSS, built using desktop tools like FrontPage/Dreamweaver 2) Server-side scripts (CGI/ASP/ColdFusion) to dynamically g

Merry Christmas - I agree HN is the best. I don't have a ton of techy friends, and since I and the friends I do have have young kids, I don't get much time to nerd out with them. HN is a great alternative and has managed to keep
