Thanks for the in-depth response. I always wonder how close the actual ad deals are to the prices mentioned on the FM rate card. If the Mommy Blog is really selling out $18 CPMs, that's fantastic.

We have some experimental Google Adsense running on our consumer site (www.newscred.com), and we get around 1.80 CPM. Which is better than I expected, but still pretty shitty. We've tried making the ads look less gross so they are more invi

Damn, I thought I recognized you and your company name while walking around GeeknRolla. Will definately have to catch up next time I'm in London. But definately agree that this was the best talk of the day by far. He's also very accessible

These guys had it all wrong from the beginning. I sound like a broken record, but newspaper organizations that want to reinvent themselves online have to run their businesses like startups: lean, agile, bootstrapped. Trying to guarantee $

Thanks for the reponse. I don't need professional news images. Just images that are 'newsy', and it could be crowdsourced content. Also, thumbnails are OK but slightly higher resolution is obviously better.

Brad Flora has done some really great work here. He always has interesting things to say. I'm really curious to see how his efforts to find a commission-only ad-sales guy for the WindyCitizen on Craigslist panned out. Has anyone else tried

What do you guys use for your payment processing? Very slick. I love dropbox, and will definately be upgrading our account for NewsCred.

What's your site? A link or name would help us understand your product better. It's always easier to give advice when we see the product rather than blind.

There is no way Twitter is going to sell itself for under 1B. They already raised at a 250M valuation, and with the team of investors they have behind them, there will be a lot of pressure to hold out until 1B or somewhere close to that.

I loved this article. We're doing exactly that with our B2B product for NewsCred. Just getting it out to and seeing who's willing to pay for it, what people think of current features, but also to prioritize the medium term feature roadmap.
