Couldn’t disagree harder on every single count. Humanity will adapt. We could sustain 10x population (70 billion) with the correct technology - the vast majority of land on earth is totally empty. There will be no resource wars and no migra

The world went through an ice-age while humans were alive and struggling. The world may be warming because of humans, but we have the ability with technology to adapt.

You are confused because you think the contracts mean anything in such a world. The contracts are worth less than the paper they are printed on when push comes to shove and you are facing a whale.

You are viewing the problem wrong. If you don't want to pay and you are a big fish, you just tell them not to ask. VC world is based on reputation and politeness. Causing a big stink is not a good look for anyone. If you are a big LP a

Yeah I was super confused by this. VCs generally don’t have all the money ready to invest. They may have raised a $300 mil fund but they don’t get that money until they call it in. If the LP says “no deals for 6 months” that’s how it is.

I know a lot of self made wealthy and it’s all about building businesses and investing in risky things. That takes a lot of talent and effort. There is a different group of born wealthy, but they aren’t building new businesses.

Philosophically I believe the state is the much bigger threat than the wealthy. The wealthy made their money on their own. The state is lead by power-crazed mad men who earn their money by taking it from others. I prefer the wealthy to the

Also a lot of lifetime academics are generally insufferable. Hugely important vision of themselves, lack of knowledge of reality, and are totally useless if they had to do a job outside of their hyper-specialized area. I see a lot of value
