I'm going to buck the trend and say that going to a 2 or 4 year college gives you a lot more than just the skills to program. It gives you social connections. It teaches you to do things you don't want to do (electives at times).

Android Wear stuff. I just got my graphics. Now I just need to figure out how to get it on the store.

Take a trip for a month, you've earned it. Go somewhere cheap and interesting.

It's prior knowledge and then doing small projects or demos that enable you to learn the things you don't know. Take you time. Going from a desktop or web programming area to mobile is a bigger leap than you think. Especially beca

Bilibo chair. There's no replacement for imagination. Wait until she's 6 and then go after the programming angle.

I can't see what the exchange rate is or whether you can buy dogecoin here. Am I missing something?

No. Recruiters seem to try to fit any candidate into roles they are not appropriate for. If it was a programming challenge I'd rather be approached by the company doing the hiring.

Argh! I'm in the same boat. I'm 2 days from expiration and I have the activation code. I just couldn't do it at work and forgot to update my home computer Xcode the one evening that I had a chance before this outage.

This guy needs to stay late and do his own job. Any company can claim they are a startup and squeeze their employees for all of their time, but that does not make it worthwhile. I, personally, refuse to work extra hours. I've burnt too

I would say in any other medium-sized US city entry-level would be 40-50K for a developer.

Yes, it really is not. OAuth on mobile is frustrating experience of matching up responses and posts and figuring out which of the 5-10 variables and secrets or keys or tokens to give.

Life-work balance. You'll burn yourself out doing 12 hour days. It takes quite a while to recoup once you get to the point where you're staring past people. Perhaps you need a better balance. Set boundaries. You may actually get more done d

I've a few over 30 and I learn new things every year. I think it is a misnomer to think that you can only learn new things when you are young. Sure, it might be easier at a time, but I have a more broad base of knowledge and when I look upo

I really think it was the NeXT engineer's tech demos showing that they could run Openstep on different processors and also that they could complete the 'Blue Box' in time.

Yes, but they are still important. I eagerly await the releases of the wwdc videos. This year they're going to release them asap. I'm so glad the years of bidding on wwdc dvds on ebay is behind us.

This is dumb. It's merely pointing out pronouns. Should it be he/she everywhere or it? Gender neutral is often 'he'. Should we now say that 'all men are created equal'? Is it splitting hairs yet? Nobody is telling women not to get into tech

I think the potential is huge but as of yet unrealized. Gnustep seems to want to make Openstep again with 'Project Builder' and 'Interface Builder' but do they have tools to cross-compile for multiple platforms? I don't think so. That would
