I am a profoundly disabled person, unable to do very many things physically. I guess they've shown that my intelligence will never be general.

Universities should not be responsible for both education and assessment. All of this disappears in a moment if those two are separate. But universities would resist that kicking and screaming to high heaven. Because it would not only under

I think that's also a worrying possibility. It might be true. Whether or not you think 'left-leaning' is the correct ideology, I would expect more left-leaning people to reject the 'either-or'. But to think that the

Sadly I think the effect might be the opposite. The massive financial hardship seems poised for a backlash where a group promoting 'economy above all else' will gain the support of millions who feel their financial future has been

I am worried there is a fine line between 'realism' and a backlash against care for the elderly and chronically ill. When people realise that their earnings have been slashed, they have been burdened with years of increased taxes,

So all animals are in different species to members of their same sex? I'm joking a little of course. But only to make the point that the definition of species taught in high school is very difficult to pin down. You identified one way.

It is very tempting to be drawn into these kind of articles. But they are always worth a little caution. Counting successful predictions post hoc is dangerous. If there had been no pandemic this year, but California had suffered from an ove

I don't disagree with the article. But I have a long-standing problem with this post-modern representation of 'objectivity' as binary. Yes, the tiniest bit of subjectivity makes something nonobjective. Okay, there is absolute

There is a fun poem about that: https://imgur.com/a/isGWqU4 It is maybe dated a bit now. I think it refers to boomers (in the 90s/00s?) rather than modern riders. But still awkwardly accurate.

The eternal September was 1993. I remember that change well and the earlier flavour I remember nostalgically. And it was tied to the rise of the web. There's a good argument to say the web killed the internet. But all things change. Ev

I don't disagree. But death numbers I think gloss over the antinuclear point. Nuclear problems have been catastrophic black swans. A nuclear plant is mostly great. Unless it's not. In a way nobody expected, (that is probably obvio

Not to disagree (this is the second Little Alchemy after all) just to add a more original original: Christian Steinruecken's DOS game "Alchemy" from 1997. Which also inspired a mobile "Alchemy" from 2010 and the inc

> There are other reference frames in which this event occurred ... 5 million years ago. For me, that was a surprising bit in your comment. I don't understand how it can be true (5 million years in the future, sure, but the past?).

Interesting. I've not thought about this before, but it seems at first glance a rather inconsistent set. Resolved by removing both: O and 0; I and 1 and L (l); S and 5. Resolved by removing the letter: Z and 2; A and 4. Not resolved: B

You should not use it at all. If the ratio of disabled facilities to able-bodied facilities is n:1, then your wait time for an able-bodied facility is 1/n, but the disabled person will have to wait for 1 unit of time. Add to that that

A probably paranoid note of caution: it isn't confirmed that this is correct. RC3 was released July 24, this version was posted July 29, but currently (12h15 GMT on July 30) it hasn't been announced, either on the website or socia
