Despite the negative parent, wouldn't you agree that the cost of integration has to be absorbed by somebody? In this case, the application vendors have to pass the cost to the schools (plus a margin). [edit] The question is whether th

I built a student tracker/analytics app for use by parents (and students) which integrates with school systems, but I tend to agree that you could not charge parents enough to pay for the Clever integration costs. The only way I think

I may be entirely off the mark, but reading about this gives me pause as I think of all of the 3rd parties that invested in other platforms (Twitter), only to be cut-off later. Why would I hitch my ride to this wagon?

One way to approach this problem is to have accreditation bodies require a more equitable distribution across the student body.

Or even inject some known negatives and see if they turn out positive. Seems pretty simple.

There are likely many motives, with some being opportunistic. My read is that a lion share of the discourse is rooted in Google attempting to redefine its relationship with users (unified id), when users are happy with the status quo. YouTu

I agree, but lets also be sure they don't get a pass just because they are large. In Google's case, being a behemoth corporation is in itself a business risk that they need to manage, and one way to motivate them self-police is b

While health concerns are an obvious concern for second hand smoke, for me, the smell is a huge issue, and drives me away. If the e-cigarettes are accompanied by any odor, please keep them away.

In some cases, its not about the specific coverage, but about cost. Completely anecdotal, but a friend of mine that owns a small business had his current coverage canceled on him, and that the cost to cover his family (wife, 2 young kids)

You wouldnt leave a $100 bill on the ground just because it doesn't come with a money tree. Even some non-sustainable businesses may be worth pursuing while they are viable if the benefit/payoff far outweighs the cost/effort

Does an MBA inoculate someone from making these judgment errors? If so, I personally know multiple MBA-holders who've made similar errors who should be informed that they deserve their money back or something. An MBA inoculates someb

While I think this is beyond dispute (gathering information for indexing), with some of their more recent moves, we may want to extend that to recognize that Google is also in the content production business.

That's a great idea, but with two kids in grade school, the local private schools would cost me about $30k per year. I would rather invest 15 minutes a day with augmenting what they are doing in the classroom. If you have the resource

I have an 8 yo going through the common core transition now. What I would recommend parents do is teach the traditional fundamentals after school. Give your kid regular work. Its not worth being an experiment.
